MOD is A Local Story

From ownership, to ingredients, it’s all local.

MOD was built by Chef Brian Arnoff in 2017, but it began much longer ago. It started with his grandfater, Meyer, who owned a convenience store in Poughkeepsie many moons ago. One Sunday afternoon he walked down to the local butcher, bought some locally raised ground beef, lit up the grill and started cooking burgers for the neighborhood as a way to drive store foot-traffic. And that’s all you need to know.

When Brian decided to open up a burger joint at 184 Main street, he wanted to invoke that neighborhood feel. He wanted it to be a local hangout with solid burgers and excellent cocktails.

Ingredients are important at MOD. Everything we server at MOD is house made… with the exception of the Ketchup. It’s as simple (or rather not so simple) as that. Every day we make our patties, our house made aoili, our fry sauce, we bread our chicken, we cut our fries and slice our tomatoes. We do not cut corners and nothing shows up in a bag, frozen and ready to cook. It makes a difference and we know it. We care about the food we serve, tremendously.

People are also ingredients we select very carefully and we believer we have curated a great staff! We could not do this without them and value and listen to their feedback. They are the ones at the counter and in the kitchen each and every day, taking care of you.

The legend of MOD carries on today at it’s original Beacon location and now with a second location at 15 Collegeview Avenue, Poughkeepsie NY (we’ve come home Meyer)
